I’m sure a lot of users of Reptiware have been wondering why the software has not seen any updates or new releases for the past 12-18 months.

Reptiware was developed by a team of three people, the developer and his partner based in Canada who produced all the code, and myself here in the UK.  I originally responded to the request for beta testers and then got more and more involved with the software development over the years. In May of 2025 for an unknown reason communications I sent got un-answered, and after many months of trying I made enquiries with the Police to see if they had them listed as missing, or god forbid had been involved in a fatal accident.  Given I’m not family there was little information I could get, but they assured me that whilst a missing person with the same name was on their books the photo I had didn’t match.  So I’m still in the dark as to what’s happened.

As far as I can tell the domain and registration servers will remain live until August 2030 so there is no need to panic, and within the next 4 years a resolution may be found to enable the renewal of the Reptiware domain and hosting of servers after that deadline is passed.

So there you have it, the reason why development of Reptiware has stalled at version 1.1.

I wish I could give you some better news, but as it stands I personally have no idea why communications stopped.  I’m just pleased that I have now gained access to the website so I could post this message and inform all the loyal subscribers what’s been happening behind the scenes.

Best regards,

Malcolm
